BRIDGEPORT -

Bridgeport police said a good Samaritan who tried to break up a fight ended up getting assaulted and carjacked Friday night.

The incident happened around 11 p.m. at Howard and Maplewood avenues.

Police say the man tried his best to calm down a bad situation, but things didn't go as planned. They say five individuals that he was trying to calm down beat him, took his keys and stole his car.

Police say the man was treated at St. Vincent's Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities say they are looking for the five suspects, as well as the victim's Audi.
