Police: Drugs, cash, shotgun seized from suspect’s home

A Stamford resident was arrested after police say they seized drugs, a shotgun and cash from his home.
Stamford police say they arrested Velson Dodaj, 50, after recovering cocaine, codeine pills, THC, a shotgun and $7,000 from the alleged suspect's Leonard Street home.
"The Narcotics and Organized Crime Squad did a very good job with this, made an arrest and this suspect was very active delivering cocaine to a number of bars throughout the region. Both here in Stamford and other bars nearby," said Capt. Richard Conklin, of the Stamford Police Department.
According to the police, Dodaj should not have had any guns due to his prior arrests.
The suspect was taken into police custody and is facing charges including possession of marijuana and narcotics, and criminal possession of a firearm.
