Traffic stop leads to drug arrests in Waterbury

State Police have made two arrests following a traffic stop that escalated into a full police pursuit.
According to officials, they stopped a 2006 blue BMW Wednesday on Route 8 in Waterbury.
Police say the driver then sped away before crashing the vehicle and taking off on foot.
Police were able to catch the two suspects.
Officials found about half an ounce of heroin, a gun and a large amount of cash.
Thomas Santos, 29, of Waterbury, and Elijah Stanford, 26, of Naugatuck, were charged.
