Nurse sentenced for dismembering girlfriend

Jermaine Richards was sentenced to 60 years in prison with no possibility of parole Friday for killing and dismembering his girlfriend.
The 34-year-old former nurse was sentenced to the maximum penalty allowable under state law. The judge said that Richards did not deserve any leniency.
The body parts of Alyssiah Marie Wiley, 20, were found in Trumbull in April 2013. Members of Wiley's family were in the courtroom to hear the sentencing.
Corrinna Martin, the victim's mother, said 60 years behind bars is not enough to allay her grief.
Richards hasn't apologized and plans to appeal his conviction.  He read a biblical passage when he had the chance to address the court.
