An app allows residents in western Connecticut to get their driveways cleared of snow with just a few clicks.
SnoHub, created by a man from Ridgefield, has been around for the past couple of years but recently hit 25,000 downloads -- a number that could double this season. It's available throughout the Northeast and serves hundreds of people in Connecticut.
Rick Cook worked in banking for 30 years and is now a SnoHub contractor, plowing driveways.
"You don't need people to go out and do estimates," he says. "If your driveway's a 100 feet or less, if the snow's a certain depth, that's the price."
The average price in the area of Norwalk is about $60 a driveway. Users can pay through the app and also track when the driver will arrive, similar to ride-hailing services like Uber and Lyft.
