Trees crumpled under the weight of more than a foot of snow across Monroe Thursday, a day after the region's second nor'easter in less than a week.

Power went out completely down Route 25 -- and even people with generators were left in the dark with nowhere to get gas.

"No response from our friends at Eversource," said resident Jamie Dunn. "This is a common occurrence on this road, but unfortunately, I think we're going to be stuck here for a day at least."

Trees or power lines fell in more than 114 spots around town, blocking roads or creating outages.

In some places, there were about 2 feet of snow on the ground. 

A passerby on Sealand Drive might not actually "see" any land -- but they'd hear a chorus of snowblowers and shoveling.

"Melted a little, so we have to pick it all up," said resident C.J. Ballatore. "And it's twice as heavy as it was before."
