Bridgeport police say they've identified both men suspected of shooting up the Sunshine Deli on Stratford Avenue last week, wounding three people.
One of the victims was shot in the hand, the other in the buttocks. The third wounded person was one of the gunmen.
The men used a handgun and an AR-15 to attack the deli around 10 p.m. on Feb. 27, and police say the man with the rifle accidentally shot his accomplice in the arm.
Surveillance video shows most of the incident: customers ducking for cover, the gunmen spraying bullets from outside and one of them recoiling in pain.
"Total, total disregard for human life -- for the people who were inside the store and for their own safety," says Bridgeport Police Chief AJ Perez. "If you have someone who doesn't care about their own safety or their own lives, it becomes very, very dangerous:"
Police did not publicly release the suspects' names, but they say they plan on arresting both of them soon.
Kenneth Moales of the nearby Cathedral of the Holy Spirit says gun violence is threatening the safety and happiness of the East End community.
"I've buried entirely too many of my parishioners, too many of my family members," he says.
