Tree trimmers keep busy amid storm cleanup

Tree trimmers were busy Thursday responding to calls for help after Wednesday's powerful nor'easter.
Dealing with something like a massive oak tree that's 100 years old and weighs 20 tons requires special equipment, such as a tall crane.
A crew from GA Landscaping saws up the tree, and then uses a crane to get the big logs off the ground. While the crew was busy with that job, owner Gilberto Avalos was on the road answering calls for help.
"I love it," Avalos says. "I wish to be driving the crane myself but I can't, I have to find jobs."
Avalos says a storm like Wednesday's could keep his hands full for three months.
Trees in Connecticut can reach 80 feet in height. Removing the largest ones can cost up to $5,000.
