A ceremony was held in Bridgeport Thursday to celebrate one man's alleged close encounter with a third kind.
Supporters say 65 years ago today, UFO researcher Albert K. Bender, with members of the International Flying Saucer Bureau, attempted to contact beings from outer space.
Supporters claim Bender's efforts were shut down by the Men in Black - who they say are real and try to stop anyone getting to the "truth" about UFOs.
The brief ceremony took place around 12:15 p.m. at the corner of Broad Street and North Frontage Road.
