Spring may not officially begin until Tuesday, but some in Milford were celebrating the start of the season early on Sunday.

The Connecticut Post Mall held its annual Spring Fling event.

Families saw live animal demonstrations where they learned about animals’ appearances, behaviors and habitats. Some of the animals at the event were the South American chinchilla and the Chinese water dragon.

Face-painting artists were also there to give children glitter tattoos and balloon animals.

Organizers say the event had fun activities for everyone.

"We have the Easter bunny photos going on, but we also have animal demonstrations, face painting, balloon animals, crafts, coloring," said Kelly Frantz, marketing director at CT Post Mall.
