Students grieve passing of beloved security officer, coach

BRIDGEPORT -

Bridgeport students are grieving the unexpected death of a popular school security officer who was known for being a mentor to young people.

Terra Holloway was a security officer at Curiale School and a coach for the Tyrone Kelly Basketball League at the PT Barnum Housing Complex.

Holloway's family says she passed away in her home Saturday at the age of 45.

She grew up in the PT Barnum Housing Complex.

Last summer, News 12 interviewed Holloway when the local basketball league was renamed in honor of her mentor, Tyrone Kelly, who had recently passed away.

Co-worker Harry Bell said the entire Bridgeport school system has been diminished by the passing of Holloway.

Holloway's cause of death has not yet been released.
