NORWALK -

A Litchfield County car crash left a Stamford nurse dead Sunday morning, police say.

Meghan Butler, 27, had recently moved to Torrington to be closer to her job at a drug rehabilitation center.

Police say Butler was driving on Route 7 near the border of Cornwall and Kent when her car collided head-on with an SUV driven by Christopher Meach.

Friends say Butler was heading to work at the time and had dedicated her career to treating mental health issues and addiction.

Her parents say she planned to get a master's degree in nursing.

The crash remains under investigation.
