Lawmakers consider crackdown on blocking car charging stations

State legislators are considering a bill that would crack down on drivers who park illegally in front of charging stations for electric cars.
Under current state law, there is no penalty keeping drivers from treating a charging station like any other parking spot, which electric car users say is inconvenient.
"There are some electric car drivers that are very frustrated by it," says electric car driver Bruce Becker. "And they'll call to have a vehicle towed, but because there's no legislation on the books now, I think it's really hard to enforce that."
Under one bill being considered by lawmakers, drivers who park in the charging space would face a $150 fine.
