Security as a Millburn elementary school was increased after some parents reported receiving disturbing letters in the mail.
The letters stated that an alleged sexual incident took place at Glenwood Elementary School in the Short Hills section of town. The letters were reportedly sent earlier this month.
Police and school officials tell News 12 New Jersey that the letters are a hoax and that there have been no reports, accusations or allegations of sexual abuse at the school.
Superintendent Christine Burton released a statement that said in part, “We are continuing to work closely with the Millburn Police Department and other agencies in their ongoing investigation.”
Superintendent Burton has been communicating with parents through several letters since the letters were received.
