BRIDGEPORT -

A man crashed his SUV in front of Bridgeport police headquarters, and officials say he was lucky to escape serious injury.

Investigators say the driver struck a parked car early Sunday morning, causing his own vehicle to flip over, landing on its roof.

The accident happened on Congress Street.

Police say the driver had to be cut from his vehicle.

The driver was taken to Bridgeport Hospital and was treated for a lung injury.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
