Lawmakers meet to discuss funding for infrastructure projects

Local, state and federal lawmakers met in Norwalk to discuss how to pay for crucial infrastructure projects.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal met with Norwalk's mayor and other officials yesterday. The goal of the discussion was to ensure that the state receives funding from a recently passed federal infrastructure law. Blumenthal says it's important to fight for federal money to fix roads, bridges and railways.
"I want to meet with anyone and everyone who has ideas about where this money should be spent,” he says. “We want our fair share, the money's there, it's in the last budget and we need to be fighting for it together, in a unified way, republicans and democrats together."
Blumenthal plans to meet with more leaders in the state to encourage them to apply for funding for infrastructure projects in their communities.
