Norwalk shelter provides holiday meals to families in need

NORWALK -

A Norwalk shelter and food pantry is providing hearty holiday meals this weekend to some families in need.

The Open Door Shelter is distributing more than 200 Easter dinners to families who might not have one otherwise.

Organizers say Thursday's event wouldn't have been possible without some help from the First Congregational Church of Darien.

Volunteers say helping others helps to brighten up their own holiday.

Open Door provides food and shelter to families in need year-round.
