Religious leaders, parishioners learn about active shooter situations

Troopers from the Connecticut State Police Training Academy spent Sunday evening in New Fairfield providing valuable active aggressor information and training to religious leaders and parishioners.
The training was hosted by the New Life United Methodist Church.
More than 80 pastors, rabbis and parishioners from 13 different churches and synagogues in several towns attended, including New Fairfield, New Milford, Bethel, Avon, Lakeville, Sharon and Danbury.
The training focused on staying safe in houses of worship in the case of an active shooter situation.
