DeLauro meets with local leaders to discuss federal budget

Rep. Rosa DeLauro met today with leaders from Connecticut’s 3rd Congressional District, which she represents, to discuss the impact of the federal budget on their communities.
She convened with approximately two dozen mayors and first selectmen in her district.
She said that by and large communities in her district are better off as a result of this budget than a year or two ago, pointing specifically to funding for local defense contractors like Sikorsky Aircraft, the biggest employer in the state, as well as money for early childhood and special education, veterans services, and housing.
DeLauro said the budget includes $546 million that Connecticut would have access to help finish various transportation projects.
She also said there is a significant amount of money in the federal budget to address the opioid crisis in the state.
