A retired teacher from Shelton is due in court this morning to face charges of alleged sexual assault.

Officials say, 76-year-old David Munson allegedly assaulted a young boy he was mentoring 12 years ago.

Police say, the victim claims Munson abused him multiple times between 2005 and 2007 while they were paired up for a tutoring program through the Shelton Intermediate School.

Munson taught for 34 years before retiring in 1999.
