Lawmakers urge adoption of common-sense gun laws

There was a call in Bridgeport Sunday for Connecticut lawmakers to adopt common-sense gun laws in the closing weeks of their legislative session.
Sen. Richard Blumenthal joined Mayor Joe Ganim to urge leaders not be intimidated by pro-gun advocates who rallied at the state Capital over the weekend.
Blumenthal said state lawmakers should take advantage of a new social change movement led by young people in the wake of the Parkland massacre in Florida.
Saturday's rally was organized by Connecticut Citizens Defense League and came in response to the back-lash against gun-rights groups following the Florida shooting in February.
