NORWALK -

A furniture chain donated several mattresses to a Norwalk nonprofit.

Ashley Furniture HomeStores made the donation to STAR, an organization that has been helping people with intellectual disabilities in Norwalk for over 60 years.

The mattresses will go in apartments and group homes.

It’s part of the chain's efforts to give back to their communities.

STAR employees say they are grateful for the donation and support they receive.

The chain also made a donation to the VA Hospital in West Haven and the Community Baptist Church in New Haven.
