Bridgeport PD asks for public's help to track down murder suspect

Bridgeport police are asking for the public's help in tracking down a murder suspect.
Investigators identified Jahmari Cooper, of Bridgeport, as their prime suspect in the city’s 21st homicide from 2017.
They says Cooper forced 18-year-old Jeri Kollack to strip naked before he was shot to death in the basement of the Green Homes Apartment Complex.
"Jahmari Cooper is not a dumb man, he's a smart kid, and so he's so far been able to avoid capture by the Bridgeport Police Department,” said Police Chief AJ Perez.
Chief Perez says Cooper was believed to have fled the area initially but then later returned to the city. He says Cooper is now hiding out somewhere in the area.
Police are offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest in this case. Authorities are urging anyone with information to call 203-581-5100.
