Fuhgeddaboudit Food: Yaso Tangbao

A Chinese street food-inspired restaurant's dumplings in Brooklyn are quickly rising to the top.
Yaso Tangbao was created by two high school friends from China who immigrated to the U.S., but became homesick after missing the taste of authentic Chinese cuisine.
Kevin Gu and friend Chi Zhang say their fast casual concept brings the flavors of the far east right to Brooklyn's doorstep.
The two friends say they left their corporate jobs to pursue culinary careers with their Shanghai street food concept.
"This style of cooking is famous for its simplicity and for being healthy. But also, it has a lot of variety of taste including spicy and sweet and sour," Gu says.
Zhang says he even kept the restaurant secret from his parents for about a year before telling them he had left his job.
The restaurant’s main dishes like – meatballs, soup dumplings and pan fried bao, were inspired by the kinds of foods both men say they missed eating back in China.
