STAMFORD -

A Stamford man is behind bars after police say they found a loaded BB gun in his car during a traffic stop.

Police say they pulled Jeffrey Beltran over after he didn't fully stop at a red light.

The officer says he saw what he thought was a gun on the back seat, partially covered by a towel.

Beltran told the officer it was a BB gun that looked like a revolver.

Police say it was loaded with six BB rounds and the officer found six more in the car.

Beltran is facing a weapons charge.
