Bridgeport police say a pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run early Monday morning near East Main and Autumn streets.

Police have identified the victim as 36-year-old Christopher Mann. They say they got a call just before 5 a.m. from a passerby reporting a body in the street.

Police say the driver was traveling north on East Main when they hit Mann, and then dragged him about 50 feet and took off. Mann was taken to the hospital, where he died of massive head trauma.

Police say they're looking for a silver vehicle, although though they don't know the make or model. They ask anyone with information to call the police department at 203-581-5100.

Mann's death comes after two recent fatal accidents on Park Avenue in the city.

Neighbors say Mann lived with his family about a half-mile from the scene of the crash and kept to himself.
