Bridgeport police are asking for the public's help identifying a porch pirate.
Surveillance video shows the female thief snatching a package from a West End front porch, and police say she's responsible for other thefts from houses in the area.
"This is a crime that is happening more frequently than ever," says Bridgeport Police Chief AJ Perez. "It's a crime of opportunity. It's easy easy pickings."
Nearly a third of Americans say they've had a package stolen from their home, according to Comcast's home security service.
Police are urging residents to take steps to protect their deliveries, like setting up alerts or requiring a signature for delivery. They can also ask neighbors to bring in packages if they won't be home.
Anyone with information is asked to call the police tip line at 203-576-TIPS.
