Norwalk flower shop flourishes on Mother's Day

It has been a busy weekend for local flower shop owners, as many residents scrambled to get a last-minute gift for mom.

Studio 9 in Norwalk had flowers flying off the shelves, and was completely sold out on Sunday evening.

They say roses were most popular, but daisies, tulips and hydrangeas were very popular as well.

The shop manager says they tripled the amount of flowers they ordered from last year for Mother's Day, and that still wasn't enough.

They estimate they received around 500 orders, not including walk-ins.

The National Retail Federation says Americans spend $2 billion on Mother's Day flowers.
