Darien police remind drivers to buckle up

With Memorial Day weekend approaching, police in Darien will be out on the roads for the Click It or Ticket campaign.

Police are reminding drivers that failing to buckle up puts your life and others’ lives at risk.

It's also against the law.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says seatbelts saved almost 14,000 lives in 2015.

Ejection from a vehicle is one of the most dangerous events that can happen in a crash.

Only 1 percent of people wearing their seatbelts were ejected during crashes.
