A Bridgeport resident says a bullet nearly hit her and her son while they were in their home Monday evening.
Alex Pagan, 31, says she and her son were relaxing in bed when they heard gunfire around 10 p.m.
She says a bullet came within a foot of striking her and her 7-year-old son in their second-floor bedroom.
The single working mom says the round passed right over their heads like something out of a movie.
Pagan says debris from the Sheetrock, resulting from the gunshot, landed on her son's face.
The bullet holes in the exterior siding of the building seem to show that at least two rounds struck the building, though only one entered the apartment.
The family of three has lived there for four years and is accustomed to hearing gunfire, but say this incident was too close for comfort.
Police say it's not clear who fired the shots, but as a result they have stepped up patrols.
They are examining surveillance video to try and identify the shooter.
