High school prom interrupted when 2 cruise ships collide

A high school prom came to an early end when two cruise ships collided in Hudson County.
Hoboken police say that the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
The 95-foot Cornucopia Destiny was just leaving the pier when it collided with the 111-foot Cornucopia Sundancer.
The Destiny was carrying 95 students and 11 faculty members from Weehawken High School. The Weehawken High School prom was taking place on the ship.
Police were able to secure both boats and evacuated everyone on board. No one was hurt.
Pictures and video clips posted on social media showed a large amount of emergency crews after the collision. Police have also blocked off the 14th Street Pier, which was partially damaged.
The students were being taken back to the high school. It was not immediately known if the prom would continue or be rescheduled.
