Record crowd packs Jones Beach for Bethpage Air Show preview

The Bethpage Air Show at Jones Beach has returned for the Memorial Day weekend tradition.
Jones Beach was packed Friday for the air show preview.
Even though the Blue Angels were just practicing today, the attendance this year was record-breaking -- 82,000 people, almost double the closest record of 47,000 set in 2016.
“It's always really great. Everyone puts on a great show, we love it,” said Stephen Simonis.
The Canadian Forces Snowbirds were also out Friday practicing before this weekend's event.
"It's thrilling to look down and see all of those people down there,” said Capt. Greg Humme-Powell. “It's a very cool thing.”
The air show will take place Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The show is free, parking is $10 a car.
