Wilton Memorial Day parade honors fallen vets, boy who died

WILTON -

The annual Memorial Day parade in Wilton honored fallen veterans and a 13-year-old boy who was killed in June 2008.

Nick Parisot was riding his dirt bike in the woods in Wilton when he hit a rope that had been tied between two trees. He eventually died of his injuries. A former neighbor later confessed to tying that rope.

Parisot loved playing on a crane when he was a little boy. The 70-year-old crane was restored in his honor. Some of it had to be rebuild due to its age.

Friends of the Parisot family say they've found comfort in restoring the crane that meant so much to the teen.

Some hope the crane will be put in a museum.
