Himes tours renovated Future 5 space in Stamford

STAMFORD -

Congressman Jim Himes visited a Stamford organization that's making sure local teens reach their full potential.

Future 5 welcomed Himes to its newly renovated space.

The organization helps low-income high school students in Stamford build self esteem through character-building workshops and one-on-one coaching.

“We have some very, very fortunate kids who have all the support in the world from their families and community and then right next store, next zip code, over there are kids who don't have that kind of support and Future 5 provides that, end to end,” said Himes.

Himes said Future 5 also opened an office at Norwalk Community College for kids who are challenged in that environment.
