State education officials rejected Brookfield's request to shorten the school year due to this month's severe weather.
Brookfield lost a total of five days in the wake of storms and asked the state to suspend the rule requiring 180 classroom days.
The state rejected its request, noting the last day of school will be June 29. This is the last day school is allowed to be held in Connecticut.
New Fairfield and Ridgefield have also asked for waivers, but have not heard back.
