Volunteers pack food for children in need

A local nonprofit spent their Sunday morning packing hundreds of bags of food in Norwalk.
Filling in the Blanks is an organization aimed at fighting childhood hunger. They provide weekend meals to children in need throughout the year.
Sen. Bob Duff was on hand for the day's event.
"There's absolutely no reason for food insecurity in our nation and especially here in Fairfield County," Duff said. "But we hear story after story after story of students who the only means they sometimes is lunch or even breakfast at schools."
Co-founders of Filling in the Blanks say 1 in 6 children in Connecticut live in households without consistent access to adequate food.
