A Fairfield nonprofit dedicated to helping those with special needs held its Family Fun Day Sunday.
The annual event was hosted by the Pilot House on its community farm.
Organizers say the event helps raise money to keep children and adults with developmental disabilities involved in many activities, like horseback riding, music and arts and crafts.
"The costs that we charge for the programs are very minimal so that everybody can participate,” says Doreen Caruso, of the Pilot House. “We don't want to have to ever turn somebody away. So every dollar that we raise through all of our events literally helps a child or young adult participate in our program."
