The mother of a Bridgeport woman charged with attempted murder is speaking out.
She says her daughter, Ashley Jackson, was acting in self-defense when she stabbed another woman at the Quality Inn in Stratford last week.
Police say 29-year-old Shalamar Rogers was critically injured.
The victim wants Jackson to be convicted on the felony assault charges that police say she's now facing.
Police say the case remains under investigation.
Jackson is being held on $250,000 bail and is scheduled to go before a judge on Friday.
