West River Bridge reopens to traffic after 4-year project

Vehicles are moving again on one of the longest and most traveled bridges in the state.
The West River Bridge reopened to traffic this morning after a four-year replacement project.
As part of the project, crews installed three traffic lanes in each direction and added full shoulders to help reduce lane closures.
The bridge on I-95 is between New Haven and West Haven. Officials say nearly 140,000 cars cross the bridge every day.
