Gama Droiville graduated high school Friday -- four years after a stray bullet pierced his eye while he was walking with an aunt at Flatbush Avenue and Beverly Road.

"I'll never be able to see out of my right eye, but I'm very well and healthy," he said. "I'm 100 percent healthy, and I thank my doctors for that."

He was 13 years old at the time of the 2014 shooting. His recovery took a long time, but he's said throughout the ordeal that he wants to become a lawyer and advocate for reducing gun violence.

He got one step closer after his graduation ceremony at the Christian Cultural Center in East New York.

"It took a while to recover," he said. "Four years later, I'm graduating high school, going to college."

He plans to study political science.

As for the man who inadvertently shot him, he said he forgives him.

"He is serving a sentence in prison, and I think it's enough for him to remember why he's there," Droiville said.
