Officials are investigating the cause of a four-car pile-up that shut down parts of the Long Island Expressway last night.

Chopper 12 was over the westbound lanes near exit 53 in Brentwood around 6:15 p.m. Tuesday.

In the video, you can see two of the cars badly crushed and debris scattered across the highway.

News 12 has been told one man suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Video from the ground shows first responders bringing the man into a helicopter.
