Bridgeport high school hosts football camp

BRIDGEPORT -

The Christon Gill Football Camp at Central High School in Bridgeport hosted 80 kids between ages five and 14 on Saturday.

Miami Dolphins player Donald Thomas, a New Haven native, appeared at the camp to give the children pointers.

Thomas said, "I want to give kids the opportunity to learn the game of football, and this is just my way of giving back."

The camp is free and encourages kids to develop any athletic skills they may have.

Gill says he started the program because there were no free football camps in this area when he was a kid.
