SHELTON -

Police say that two people killed and five people hospitalized after a multi-car crash in April were innocent victims of illegal road racing.

Police say 19-year-old Abdulaziz Yuldoshev of Hamden was racing a car along northbound River Road that forced a car driven by a Pennsylvania woman into the path of a Mini Cooper driven by 19-year-old Lawrence Carter of Bridgeport.

Carter’s wife Briana and another woman in his car were killed.

Lawrence Carter, another passenger in his car, along with three women in the other car were all hurt.

Police say additional arrests are expected.
