Connecticut Epilepsy Advocate held its second annual Mega Blood Drive Wednesday in Milford.
Organizers said they were hoping for 150 donations to help more than 400 people in need.
They said blood donations are always in high demand, but moreso in the summer because people are away on vacation.
The drive had the means to accommodate about 15 people an hour, with the option for them to donate 1 or 2 pints of blood.
The American Red Cross estimates that every two seconds, someone needs blood in the U.S.
