Crews responded to a fire Thursday morning at a business strip on Main Street in Norwalk.
The fire has since been contained.
Officials say that the fire had started at Main Street Variety around 2:30 a.m. and spread from the front to the back of the building.
As a result, a storage facility behind the building also caught on fire.
Officials say two people who live in apartments on the strip needed to be evacuated.
No injuries were reported.
Officials say there is extensive damage to Main Street Variety and smoke damage to several other businesses on the strip not including BJ Ryan's.
The owner of Main Street Variety says he closed up Wednesday around 3 p.m. and hasn't been told at this point what had caught on fire in the store.
He says he's owned the store for four years.
Officials say one firefighter was treated on the scene for dehydration and a second firefighter was taken to the hospital with a knee injury.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
