An 80-year-old woman from Westville has died, and seven others have been injured, in a Virginia highway crash that police attribute to drunken driving.
According to Virginia State Police, the two-vehicle crash occurred Sunday at 4:30 a.m. on Interstate 85 in Dinwiddie County.
Police say Clint Vigil, 29, of Richmond, veered into the left lane and struck a car driven by James Allen, 48, of Westville.
Allen's car hit a wall, and Vigil's car overturned.
Police say Vang Houn was riding in the back seat of Allen's vehicle and died at the scene.
Vigil and four passengers in his car suffered serious injuries.
Allen and his front-seat passenger also suffered serious injuries.
Vigil has been charged with driving under the influence and may face other charges.
