Activists rally again for immigrant detained at Fort Hamilton

Immigration activists rallied outside the Fort Hamilton Army base Thursday evening to once again demand the release of Pablo Villavicencio, an Ecuador native who was detained at the base in June while delivering a food order.
As News 12 has reported, authorities at the Army base questioned Villavicencio's identification card, and then summoned U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to detain him.
The father of two was set to be deported before receiving an emergency stay a week later.
Thursday's rally came just days before Villavicencio is scheduled to make a pivotal court appearance in Manhattan. That hearing on Tuesday could determine whether Villavicencio can stay in the U.S.
