A new bar and restaurant in Brooklyn proudly shares its name with a French philosopher.
Voltaire opened recently in Borerum Hill, and they put a spin on American comfort food.
Flint Spender, the sous chef at Voltaire, says his goal is to make sure customers leave with a smile.
Items on the menu include chicken and biscuits, grilled cheese, sausage and gumbo.
They say the biscuits are made from scratch every single morning. 
Their signature dish is a honey butter chicken biscuit with potatoes and watermelon
