Blumenthal to call for end to rising drug prices

Posted: Updated:

Sen. Richard Blumenthal will call for an end to skyrocketing drug prices Monday.

Blumenthal is leading meetings throughout the summer to build support for this measure.

He says prices have risen greatly over the past two years, forcing many families to decide between necessities like buying food or getting medication they need.

Blumenthal has discussed rebates, bans on price gouging, mandatory negotiation on Medicare prices, imports from Canada and more.

The meetings were set to be held in Hartford and Torrington.
