A Bridgeport woman says she's had an exceptionally difficult time getting her insurance company to pay for a wheelchair, and is taking matters into her own hands.
Jessica Gonzalez says she can walk only a short distance with the help of a cane or crutches. The rest of the time she requires a wheelchair.
Gonzalez has started a fundraiser to buy a used motorized wheelchair on her own.
"I'm stuck at home, I can't go to my appointments, I can't take my kids to their appointments, I'm basically stuck at home," says Gonzalez.
The single mother says she used a motorized wheelchair to get to doctor appointments, but the one she had eventually died.
